Poll: Was a 'Stephen's Day tracksuit' ever an important part of your Christmas routine?

For some people, it’s the best part of Christmas.

WE ALL KNOW that Christmas Day requires a lot of preparation.

We decorate our homes weeks in advance, spend every bit of free time we have running into shops to get last minute presents and start the cooking and baking on Christmas Eve (or sometimes earlier).

Luckily, all of the work we put in for Christmas usually keeps us ticking over for a few days afterwards. We’ve all come in from the pub in the evenings following Christmas, delighted that there’s still a bit of ham and stuffing in the fridge to rustle up a sandwich with.

The leftover grub is the highlight of Stephen’s Day for adults, but for kids of a certain age, Stephen’s Day is all about relaxing in a comfy new tracksuit. Maybe they’ll head off to Funderland to waste some of their Christmas money, or maybe they’ll head to their pal’s houses to play whatever new video games they got for Christmas.

Regardless of what your Stephen’s Day plans are, the knowledge that there’s a cosy little tracksuit waiting in your wardrobe for you the day after Christmas helps to keep the Christmas spirit alive. It’s something to look forward to when all of the fun is over.

Although it’s a well-established tradition in some parts of Dublin, we know that there are plenty of people out there who have never known the healing powers of a Stephen’s Day tracksuit.

So… Was a Stephen’s Day tracksuit ever an important part of your Christmas routine?
